The benefits in 2026

  • Bijtelling 18% on the first € 30.000 of list price (22% above that), for cars first registered in 2026.
  • 30% discount on road tax for electric passenger cars.
  • Low cost per kilometre, especially if you charge at home or at work.
  • Electric vans are exempt from bpm (purchase tax) in 2026 and qualify for the KIA.

What to look out for

  • Residual value: electric cars sometimes lose value faster. Don't choose too high a balloon payment.
  • Charging: a charging point at home or at work is often tax-deductible for your business.
  • Used car: a 2 to 3 year old electric car is often much cheaper. Check the battery warranty.

Charging

A charging point at your business or at home can often be financed too or depreciated as a business asset. Charging at home for business can be reimbursed tax-free at actual cost.
