A company car through financial lease
You choose the car yourself, at a dealer or on Marktplaats. The lender pays for it, you pay fixed monthly instalments. You're on the balance sheet as the owner, so you depreciate it and deduct the interest. After the last instalment the car is entirely yours.
What to look out for with a passenger car
- VAT car or margin car: only with a VAT car do you get 21% VAT back. The difference.
- Company-car tax (bijtelling): if you drive more than 500 km a year privately, you pay bijtelling. Electric is cheaper in 2026: 18% up to € 30.000.
- No KIA: passenger cars are excluded from the investment deduction. Do you mainly drive for work with materials? Then a van is often better for tax.
- Used car: a car 2 to 4 years old is 30 to 45% cheaper than new.

Include bijtelling and road tax
If you also use a passenger car privately, you pay company-car tax (bijtelling). For a petrol car that's 22% of the list price per year. An electric car first registered in 2026 has 18% on the first € 30.000; in 2027 that's 20%. If you drive less than 500 km a year privately, there's no bijtelling, but you must be able to prove it with a trip log.

New or second-hand?
A second-hand car two or three years old is often 30 to 40% cheaper than new, while it will last for years. Note: bijtelling is based on the original list price, and an electric used car keeps the percentage of its year. How bijtelling works on a used car.
Business or private?
If you put the car in your business, all costs are deductible but you pay bijtelling. If you keep it private, you can claim your business kilometres tax-free at the fixed mileage allowance. From application to keys
- Application (2 minutes). Enter your business, your contact details and the vehicle. Haven't chosen a car yet? You can add it later.
- Proposal. We submit your application to the lender that best suits your situation and send you a proposal with the interest rate, monthly instalment and balloon payment.
- Documents. Usually an ID, a KvK extract and a few bank statements. You upload them securely on your personal status page.
- Sign digitally. Once approved, you sign the contract online.
- Payout and collection. The lender pays the seller directly. You collect the car.
