Why do lenders ask for annual accounts?
Annual accounts show whether your business is profitable. But many freelancers don't have them yet, because they've only just started or their financial year hasn't closed yet.
What we use instead
- Bank statements from the last 3 to 6 months
- Your last income tax return, if you have one
- Invoices or a revenue overview from your accounting software
- Contracts with clients
What it costs
Without annual accounts the interest rate is often a bit higher and the lender sometimes asks for a down payment. Once your figures are in, you can refinance on better terms if you like.
How lenders assess you without annual accounts
- Bank statements from the last 3 to 6 months: is income coming in regularly?
- KvK registration: how long have you been in business?
- BKR check in your name (Dutch credit register).
- The vehicle: a popular van or car is less risky for the lender.
Amounts without annual accounts
Without annual accounts, up to about € 50.000 to € 75.000 per vehicle is often possible, depending on your situation. Above that, lenders usually do ask for figures or a forecast.
| Price incl. VAT | 48 mo | 60 mo | 72 mo |
|---|---|---|---|
| € 15.000 | € 290 | € 244 | € 214 |
| € 25.000 | € 484 | € 407 | € 356 |
| € 35.000 | € 677 | € 570 | € 499 |
| € 50.000 | € 967 | € 814 | € 712 |

Tips for a quick assessment
- Use a business account and keep private finances separate.
- Send the documents straight away via your status page.
- Choose a term that suits the car's age: car age plus term ideally no more than 10 years.
From application to keys
- Application (2 minutes). Enter your business, your contact details and the vehicle. Haven't chosen a car yet? You can add it later.
- Proposal. We submit your application to the lender that best suits your situation and send you a proposal with the interest rate, monthly instalment and balloon payment.
- Documents. Usually an ID, a KvK extract and a few bank statements. You upload them securely on your personal status page.
- Sign digitally. Once approved, you sign the contract online.
- Payout and collection. The lender pays the seller directly. You collect the car.
